The Compute tracks the infrastructure of intelligence.

Behind every model release is an industrial machine: GPUs and the fabs that etch them, high-bandwidth memory stacked die by die, data centers denominated in gigawatts, power plants restarted for single customers, cooling loops the size of district heating systems, and capital flows that rival national infrastructure programs. That machine economy is the subject of this publication.

How we work

The Compute is built on a structured research system, not a content pipeline:

• Documents are ingested from graded sources — filings, primary announcements, wire reporting, independent research.
• Claims are extracted as atomic, checkable assertions, each carrying its source quote, metric, and a verification status.
• Events are reconstructed from corroborated claims — what actually happened, with confidence and impact scores.
• Issues are editorial syntheses written on top of that verified layer, and they cite it.

We publish the distinction deliberately. A source document is not a fact. A claim is not an event. When we're inferring, we say so.

The visual layer

The Compute is a publication of GFX. Every cover and article artwork is generative — deterministic art seeded by the content itself. The aesthetic is the thesis: the machine economy, rendered.
